Folded
Console.

One continuous run of Corten Iron Neolith, folded upright until it stands on its own edge, carrying a single slab of Patagonia quartzite. Built once, by the same hands that build our interiors.

The idea

It stands on nothing but its own folds.

There is no frame under this piece and there are no legs. A flat run of Corten Iron Neolith is folded upright until the folds themselves become the structure — each turn stiffening the next, the zigzag reading in plan the way a pleat reads in cloth. The surface carries the depth of weathered corten iron, so no two faces take the light the same way. On top sits one slab of Patagonia quartzite: quarried once, cut once, and impossible to match a second time.

Folded once. Built once.
